Arabia is famous for its camels, known as the ships of the desert. They are a very important part of Omani life even today. Camel racing is taken very seriously and a fast camel is worth tens of thousands of rials.

Experience a ride on one of the camels as it takes you through our farm as well as horse riding for your choice.

Diving Dimaniyat

The Dimaniyat Islands are the jewels in the crown for diving in the Gulf of Oman. We have teamed up with Oman’s premier dive company Global Scuba centre for diving the Dimaniyat.These tiny islands lie about 18 km off the Batinah Coast and are Oman's only marine National Reserve protected by UNESCO for over 20 years. Diving here is spectacular. Coral reefs cover up to 70% of the dive sites seabed with more than a hundred different species of soft and hard coral and marine life varies from sting-rays, occasional turtles, leopard sharks and on rare occasions the whale shark. Dolphin Diving is just 20 minutes by boat from the southern islands from their base in The Civil Aviation Club. We can also arrange other dive locations, dolphin watching and PADI courses.

Ostrich Farm

Just opposite the resort is the Barka Ostrich Farm. Watch the ballerinas of the desert as they flounce around in their enclosures, admire their footwork (but stay well away from the fencing so that they can cause you no harm) and buy an ostrich egg to take home as a unique souvenir.
